How to Update the Device Sensor list

Updating a sensor list from devices allows users to force-update the sensor information loaded from a device. Doing so updates the list of sensors of a device as well as the metadata and settings for each of these sensors.

Typically, a device already does this step – once – on its very first connection with the Overlay.live network. But in some situations, an update may be useful. For example:

• A Device (Manual or Managed) runs extensions and receives support for additional sensors.
• If you are developing your own device (writing code), you may wish to implement updates and refresh the sensors as they are read from your device without having to delete and re-connect the device to your account.

Note: Updating the sensor list of a device might result in the deletion of all device linked sensors from the Overlays they are being used in.
